Insights Manager (Chicago Office)

Summary of position:

This is a customer insights role that uses market research, analytic methods & marketing knowledge to design, build, & interpret market research & analytical models to meet client business objectives. You will work as part of a project team across all phases of insight development – conceptualization, research design, statistical modeling & analysis, and insight development. The role uses an understanding of market research & analytical methods to address project team and client goals.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Translate key marketing and business questions into qualitative and quantitative research plans
  • Manage teams responsible for developing quantitative research sampling plans & questionnaires
  • Work with external market research vendors on research fieldwork, data collection & data processing
  • Develop and execute analysis plans in service of project objectives, including statistical methodologies such as segmentation, multivariate analysis, regression & structural equation modeling, choice modeling, experimental design, among others
  • Share and interpret outputs, analytic findings & insights with project & client team
  • Iterate and finalize findings into client ready presentations
  • Present findings to future and existing clients
  • Coach and develop more junior consultants
  • Work closely with other internal groups throughout Prophet and improve internal tools, methodologies and processes

Qualifications / Experience:

Insights & Analytics Experience:

  • Strong conceptual understanding of research & analytic methods such as segmentation (factor/cluster, latent class modeling), regression & structural equation/pathway modeling, choice modeling (e.g., MaxDiff Scaling, DCM, ACA, HB modeling, etc.), experimental design, among others
  • Proficient in executing two or more of the above methods using statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, AMOS, Latent Gold, and/or Sawtooth
  • Working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint

Education and/or Other Experience:

  • Master's degree or PhD degree with a strong background in quantitative methods, market research, or behavioral sciences (e.g., Market Research, Statistics, Psychology, Behavioral Economics/Decision Sciences, etc)
  • 5 or more years experience in quantitative market research arena
  • Deep experience applying quantitative & market research techniques to marketing problems
  • Content fluency around marketing & brand strategy
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and client relationships
