What is your favorite brand?
Mental_Floss, a niche magazine brand (tagline: Where Knowledge Junkies Get Their Fix). This is one of my favorite brands because it highlights the creative freedom and branding/messaging benefits that can come from focusing on a very specific target market. I also love it because that target market includes me!
What is a little known fact about you?
I will always say yes to a costume/theme party and will go to great lengths to get just the right outfit.
What do you like to do outside the office?
Watching documentaries, dropping by late night improv shows, sipping a glass of wine with good friends, and road biking on a beautiful weekend day.
What did you do prior to Prophet?
I joined Prophet after graduating from business school last year. Prior to business school I worked for a brand research and strategy firm that focused on media, technology, fashion and CPG industries. Before that I worked for a consulting firm focused on branding, design and ideation.
What drew you to Prophet?
The energy. The moment I walked into the office for my first informational interview I could sense the excitement and passion in the air – it's a place where people get to do what they love to do. I also appreciated the breadth of expertise that Prophet covers - giving me the opportunity to explore my interests in branding, marketing, design and innovation.
What has been your most interesting or unique Prophet project thus far?
I'm currently working on a pro-bono brand positioning, messaging and identity project for a non-profit with the mission of promoting conflict resolution in the Middle East. It's immensely rewarding to work with people tackling such important and challenging world issues.
What is the best part of working at Prophet?
The exposure to so many diverse and brilliant minds. Our open culture and appreciation of differences often lead to unexpected and ultimately more insightful end results for our clients.
Any advice to applicants?
Think seriously about why you want to pursue a career in brand consulting versus any other career, and why Prophet in particular. You spend a good amount of your life at your job, so it should be something you truly enjoy and find rewarding.
