Karen Woon
Director of Marketing
Describe your passion, your expertise and your way.
My passion is for words and for the clear and clever expression of thoughts.
My expertise is expressing complicated ideas in a concise and approachable manner.
My way is to sit back, listen, and wait until I have something meaningful (or funny) to say.
What is your favorite brand?
The Onion. It is so consistently irreverent and outrageous. It is my go-to when I need a good laugh.
What is a little known fact about you?
That someone who obviously cares so little about clothing could care so much about art, furniture, and design.
Years in consulting or with Prophet?
Thirteen. It’s been amazing, but it’s a bit shocking to see it in print.
What did you do prior to Prophet?
I worked in advertising; first with a small Bay Area agency and then with big boys like J. Walter Thompson and McCann Erickson.
What drew you to Prophet?
I was intrigued by Prophet’s focus on the intersection of brand and business strategy. It was exciting to join a company that was just finding its sea legs and continues to evolve in interesting ways.
What is the best part of working at Prophet?
It is really a unique opportunity to work with wicked smart people who have equally wicked senses of humor. I learn and laugh from my colleagues in equal measure.
