Prophet Academic Partner Tülin Erdem Tapped for Three-Year Editorship of Journal of Marketing Research

NEW YORK (March 12, 2009) – Tülin Erdem, an academic partner with Prophet and the Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business Administration and Marketing at the Stern School of Business, New York University, has been tapped as editor of the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR).

Erdem is the first female editor of JMR, one of the American Marketing Association’s (AMA) leading journals. She will serve a three-year term as editor that begins July 1.

“It’s a great honor to be selected for this position,” said Erdem. “I am committed to maintain and enhance the Journal’s position as the preeminent board academic journal in marketing that’s open to behavioral, methodological and modeling work.”

The widely published Erdem has been an academic partner with Prophet since July 2008; in that role, she consults exclusively with Prophet and its clients on marketing effectiveness and analytics challenges. She brings particular expertise in the areas of brand management and equity, consumer choice, econometric modeling and pricing.

She joined Stern in 2006, from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, where she was the E.T. Grether Professor of Business Administration and Marketing.

“Tülin brings tremendous breadth and depth of experience to the position,” said. Richard Lutz, AMA's vice president of publications. “Not only has she published in all the major journals in our field, but she has also served with distinction as both a reviewer and an associate editor."

Prophet (www.prophet.com) is a global consultancy based in San Francisco that helps business leaders use brand, marketing, design, and innovation to grow and transform.
