What’s inspiring us now…
We asked our consultants what the most inspiring thing is that they have seen, heard, or purchased so far in 2010. Here are their answers.
Alice In Wonderland in 3D — This Tim Burton film is the latest to use 3D technology and win at the box office. At the time of this newsletter, it was about to break the $300 million mark, making it the 34th highest grossing movie of all time. |
Crystallized ginger — Ginger is something people either love or hate, use all the time, or don’t have a clue how to use it. Henry VIII used it to prevent the plague. It can flavor tea and cure a cold. We may classify this as a “superfood”, because it may not suit everyone, but the best tastes in life are those we acquire. |
Bank of America app — Customers can use this application for checking available balances, paying bills, transferring funds, or locating ATMs and banking centers on-the-go. |
||
Heineken activation video — A brave guerilla marketing effort by Heineken on the eve of a huge soccer match. A great use of a variety of different marketing vehicles, with powerful ROI. |
Monocle magazine and web site. — As one of our Senior Partners put it, “far and away my greatest source of inspiration.” |
|||
Response mechanisms supporting Haiti relief — Text-based fundraising for the Haitian relief effort was a huge success. The American Red Cross received $5 million in 3 days via text donations, a record for the organization. |
United’s mobile boarding pass and check-in — Customers check in at mobile.united.com and receive an email link to a mobile boarding pass that includes a barcode. It’s easy to see why this made our list! It allows our always-traveling consultants to check in whenever, wherever! |
Volkswagen “The Fun Theory”
campaign — In a world where everyone is looking to create a hot viral video — in our opinion — VW nailed it. Their new campaign, “The Fun Theory” is a series of experiments captured on video to see if making the world more fun can improve people’s behavior. |
||
OK Go’s latest video. — The best use of a Rube Goldberg contraption we’ve seen in a long time. |
Oliver Peoples glasses — Jennifer Aniston, Robert Downey Jr., and Angelina Jolie wear them. Add Prophet consultants to that list? Who knew? |
