Emart's redesign featured by GDR Creative Intelligence
December 9, 2011
Emart – South Korea’s largest discount chain – has opened a new outlet offering two specialty retail services previously unavailable in the country, alongside its regular product selection of food and drinks, office supplies and home goods. Molly’s Pet Shop occupies a 279sqm area in the store, providing a range of pet services that would normally only be available through a vet or members-only site. As well as pet products, the outlet features an in-house vet, beauty studio, adoption clinic and obedience classes. A Social Club houses a play and training area, and a pet hotel. Meanwhile, Molly’s Café offers gourmet treats for both owners and dogs, enabling them to dine together.
On the same floor, a 1,022sqm space hosts the Matrix consumer electronics store, which retails multiple brands and features lifestyle and product demonstration areas. Graphics portraying people playing video games and handwritten graffiti decorate the space. The store’s ground floor is reserved for Emart Traders, a warehouse style environment retailing bulk purchases.
An extensive range of products is available, including fresh foods, wines, office supplies and home goods. Large displays announce weekly offers, such as the Traders Deal. The chain plans to open multiple sites across the country by the end of the year.
