Content Strategy Engagement Manager

The Role

Engagement Managers are the backbone of our firm and hold our project teams together. They lead Partners, Senior Associates, Associates, and specialists, ensuring that everyone is working together towards the same goal. They collaborate and engage with/manage our clients, helping them achieve success in their roles while bringing ideas to life. Our Engagement Managers are both analytical and creative in their approach to solving complex problems and implementing the right solutions.

We are seeking an Engagement Manager to lead the creation and optimization of best-in-class approaches for our clients in the area of content strategy and marketing. You will build and oversee the development of plans that help our clients reach their business goals, using your brand and marketing skills to define breakthrough strategies and tactics to engage and move people to action.

You will lead and collaborate with a team of strategists, analysts and specialists building on brand and business strategies to drive accelerated outcomes for corporate brands, product portfolios, and individual products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement content strategy initiatives for clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand the client and audience needs, and develop hypotheses about how content can express brand values and achieve marketing and experience objectives.
  • Create content plans, such as thought leadership initiatives, channel plans and/or social launches, as well as content marketing campaigns in order to achieve impact and demonstrate Prophet’s signature and collaborative way of working.
  • Drive the problem-solving process for content ideation and creation with a broad team of consultants and specialists, using both analytical and creative techniques to get to compelling results.
  • Integrate content strategy into context of the broader brand, marketing and experience projects as well as handle stand-alone content projects
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of senior-level client relationships and internal teams as a strong representative of Prophet
  • Monitor project scope and profitability as primary project manager
  • Present recommendations to clients and lead large team discussions.
  • Support new business activities by formulating and presenting new business proposals that demonstrate Prophet’s capabilities and expertise, particularly in content strategy and content marketing that solve client needs
  • Promote the value of content and content strategy, contributing to firm IP development, marketing, training, and ongoing educational sessions, demonstrating value and points of integration with other business functions
  • Manage, coach, and teach junior consultants about content strategy, content marketing, brand strategy, digital strategy, innovation, etc.

Requirements

  • A Great Education: BA or BS degree with demonstrated academic performance
  •  Passion for Communicating & Storytelling: A big picture understanding of the way that content can build reputations and relationships for brands, and inspire and solve problems for audiences
  • Relevant Experience: 6 or more years of work experience, ideally with a leading business or agency, content creator/publisher, or a digital, marketing, or strategy consulting firm. Experience leading content strategy and content marketing for both B2B and B2C.
  • A toolkit of hard skills: Fluency with taxonomies, metadata, modular content, CMS, content ecosystems, DAMs, marketing automation tools (Marketo, Hubspot), and analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • SEO Cognizance: An understanding of the search landscape and the tools for mastering it
  • Horsepower & Intellectual Curiosity: The desire to move quickly, not be afraid of failure, and be inspired by challenges; be a learner by nature and seek new information and inspiration to drive progress, collaboration, and remarkable outcomes
  • Meticulous Execution: Embracing work, knowing its importance, and ensuring the highest standards through iterative collaboration across teams

  • Confusion Tolerance: Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt, flex, and change directions given client, project, and team circumstances understanding the ever-changing business world
  • Editorial Skillset: Writing and editing skills and journalistic mindset that drives you to get the best, most compelling story
