The largest publisher and distributor of children’s books in the world, Scholastic, faced increasing competition as more and more customers went to Amazon to buy books. Keeping to its corporate mission to democratize literacy, Scholastic worked with Prophet to bring the excitement of getting the new scholastic catalog at school to a tablet or computer at home.
Scholastic realized that the world of children’s publishing, reading and learning was transforming into a much more digital space. We didn’t just help Scholastic get a product in-market to compete with other eReaders; Prophet leveraged Scholastic’s history as a trusted brand to create an interactive tool to help parents and children navigate the world of children’s literature. Through quantitative research and an inspiring PLAYSTUDIO™ session, Prophet developed a comprehensive go-to-market strategy. This included outlining the value proposition and developing the name and visual identity of the app.
Storia has received many industry awards and accolades for its positive impact on students, teachers and parents. Among its recognitions, Storia was named the 2012 Editor’s Choice Award by Children’s Technology Review, the 2012 Cynopsis Kids !magination Award for Best Educational Tablet App and the 2013 Parents’ Choice Award.
